This is the Black Rock Lodge, dense rainforest above the Macal River in Belize’s Maya Mountains, 2.5 hours west of Belize City, south of San Ignacio. Black Rock Forest Lodge’s offers abundant opportunities for exploration and adventure. Whether canoeing down the Macal River horse, pure rose to Flour Camp Cave, or climbing traces the various Canyon, plentiful diversity of local flora and fauna is inspiring.
More than 200 species of birds that may be to look at the property and the Black Rock Lodge is one of the rare places in Central America where you can observe three types of toucan in a single morning. In addition, spotting good vibrations Orange breasted Falcon or the White Hawk soaring above the Canyon along with the joy of hearing a different call tracking of gray-tailed Trogon add excitement to visit Black Rock.
Black Rock Lodge, off-grid, meaning there is no power available from electric utilities. Since 1989, Black Rock Lodge has been producing electricity with clean energy, either through solar power and hydro. It is a pleasure and honor to be able to operate all of Black Rock Lodge, with electricity generated by non-polluting, renewable resource.
